Throughout the year, ICI hosts Special Events including Free Learn to Skate or Learn to Play sessions, themed Public Skates, Tournaments, Competitions, and Holiday Skates! 

Adaptive Skate presented by Main Event

Adaptive Skate presented by Main Event is back through December! 

  • September 16 4:45-5:45pm
  • October 22 10:30-11:30am
  • November 25 12:30am-1:30pm
  • December 23 10-11am

This is an inclusive skate for children with special needs and their families to enjoy a low sensory skate with sleds and walkers provided by Variety Children's Charity of Greater Kansas City available!

*Sleds and walkers limited to availability and are designed to help skaters with special needs.

Spooky Skate presented by Cumbl Cookie is here for a frightfully fun time for the whole family!  

Bring the whole family out for FREE Trick or Treating with our sponsors and sports teams, FREE Craft Vendor Fair, FREE Haunted House walk-through experience, FREE entertainment, FREE costume contest with prizes, and unlimited ice skating only $5 n the same ice as the Kansas City Mavericks Professional Hockey Team! FREE skate rental!

Wear your best costume to participate in the Costume Contest to win a variety of great prizes!

*MORE TO LOVE* Our Haunted House just got bigger! Journey through more rooms of our Haunted House presented by Whataburger, casted by City Theare of Independence. OPEN CALL AUDITIONS! Interested in joining our skeleton crew? Come by Cable Dahmer Arena on September 14 & 15 from 6-8pm. Find out more here!

*NEW THIS YEAR* Safe skate zone! On the ice, we will have a safe skater zone that will be staffed with our Learn to Skate coaches for those skaters needing a little extra room to practice. 

*Save on your skate pass!* Free skating passes are given with a food donation at the door to Harvesters, as part of Cable Dahmer’s Million Meal Mission.


Please note that due to safety concerns, costumes with accessories or clothing pieces that hang below the ankles and/or drag behind a person will not be permitted on the ice rink.
